Laura Louise Scott

Laura Louise Scott, 92, of Bradford, Illinois died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 7:20 p.m. at Kewanee Care Nursing Home in Kewanee, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church, Bradford with Pastor Jan Ringenberg. Burial will be in Osceola Grove Cemetery. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service Saturday. She was born June 23, 1924, in Neponset, Illinois the daughter of Arnold and Della (Pettit) Kuster. Laura married Harold Scott February 10, 1951 in Neponset at the United Methodist Church. Laura graduated from Neponset High School with the Class of 1942 and Illinois State University in 1947 with a Bachelor''s degree in Home Economics. She taught home economics at Bradford High School for two years and in East Moline for a year and a half. Laura worked at the Bradford Library from 1976 to 1990. She was a 4H leader for several years, a member of Women''s League, involved in the United Methodist Women, an avid gardener, reader and homemaker. She is survived by her husband of almost 66 years, Harold of Bradford; four daughters: Sharon (Lauren) Murray of Galva, IL, Cinda Scott of Bradford, IL, Linda (Kirk) Mushrush of Dyersville, IA and Melanie (Ron) Roberts of Metropolis, IL; 7 grandchildren: Miranda (Nick) Boss of Alexis, IL, Brittany (Andrew) Carlson of Roseville, IL, Joel (Lee Ann) Roberts of Benton, KY, Whitney Mushrush of Dyersville, IA, Cameron (Lisa) Mushrush of Exira, IA, Morgan (Phil) Timmerman of Cascade, IA, Susan (Reuben) McNeill of Paducah, KY; 5 great- grandchildren: Hallee and Rylee Roberts, Avery and Amelia Boss and Aycen Carlson; 2 sisters- in law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Memorials may be made to Leet Memorial United Methodist Church or the Bradford Public Library District.
