Laura Lee Bopes

Laura Lee Bopes, 48, of Princeton passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, in her home. She was born on Jan. 5, 1967, in Princeton to Ronald and Linda (Whipple) Ratliff. Laura''s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She is survived by two sons, Nathan and Logan Bopes of Princeton; and her stepson, Zachary Bopes of Princeton. Laura is also survived by her mother, Linda Ratliff of Princeton; a sister, Julie (Steve) Danielson of Princeton; a niece, Janelle (Dustin) Harper of White Heath; two nephews, Mitch (Ashley) Danielson of Whitestown, Ind., and Lane Danielson of Bloomington; and a great-niece, Ava Harper of White Heath. Laura was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Ratliff. Laura graduated from Princeton High School in 1985. She attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a degree in business in 1993. She made her career in the insurance field working for Met-life and was well respected by her colleagues and customers. Laura loved animals and to read. Her dog, JoJo, and cat, Angel, were beloved members of the family. During her five-year battle with cancer, her faith in God and the love of her family and friends gave her strength and courage to face each day with determination. She fought bravely until the end. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at the Princeton Bible Church, Princeton, with pastors Tim Batchelor and Ken Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Memorials may be made to the "Bopes Children" Memorial at Heartland Bank.

I am so sad to hear that Laura has passed away. She is remembered very fondly. Heaven is lucky to receive such a gracious new angel.
Laura will be greatly missed! I had the opportunity to work several 6pm shifts with her. I will never forget how she was always willing to help. She was great at what she did and I will be forever grateful.
