Larry W. Blanford, 65, of Buda died at 10:08 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born March 25, 1946, in Union County, Ky., to Thomas H. and Laura (Gerten) Blanford, he married Barbara Tisdale Oct. 6, 1988, in Elkton, Md. She survives. He was a welder and trucker. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1964 to 1965. Also surviving are six sons, Ron Siennsa of Colora, Md., Larry Blanford Jr. of Ottawa, Michael (Casey) Blanford of LaSalle, Dennis (Linda) Tisdale of Chicago, Terry (Rachel) Tisdale of New Holstein, Wis., and Charles Blanford of Port Deposit, Md.; one daughter, Martina Blanford of Granville; two brothers, Thomas Blanford of Wyanet and David (Cheryl) Blanford of Sterling; and 27 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Cremation rites will be held after the services. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with military rites conducted by Wyanet V.F.W. Post 6634. Memorials may be directed to the family.
