Kevin "Bear" Lee Borges, 60, of Princeton, Illinois passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Kevin was born February 4, 1960 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Cecil and Marjorie (Etheridge) Borges, Jr.
He married Sandra Shepard February 25, 2006 at the People Church in Princeton. She survives in Princeton.
Also surviving are two step-children, Joshua Rich of Princeton and Emileigh Shepard of Princeton; four grandchildren: Kailey, Kaiden, and Briggs Joshua Rich and his little buddy, Levi Foster; two sisters, Sue (Ted) Roberts of Princeton and Kimber (Cal) Swanson of Red Bud, IL; one brother, Justin (Jan) Walters of Princeton; two nieces: Elise (Mike) Conner of Mackinaw, IL and Ami (Justin) Robison of Sheffield, IL; and several more nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Tom Borges.
Kevin worked as an over the road truck driver.
He was an avid fisherman and made his own fishing lures. Kevin enjoyed growing jalapenos and making his own salsa. He was known as a gentle giant or a big teddy bear. He had a big heart and loved to give gifts.
He had a sweet love of the Lord and lived his faith. He was passionate about sharing what Jesus accomplished on the cross for all mankind. Kevin donated the cross that can be seen at Wyaton Hills Golf Course.
There were many people who ministered to Kevin and made a difference in his life. These included Rev. Raymond Ross, Max Wallace, Ruth Parrott, and Brother Van.
