Kenneth Joe Jaggers, 80, of San Benito, Texas, formerly of Wyanet, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas. Born Sept. 24, 1935, in Princeton to Roy and Nellie (Ellis) Jaggers, he married Carole Joanne Blythe Sept. 26, 1953, in Wyanet. She died July 1, 2012. He was self-employed at Jaggers Co. in Wyanet as an upholsterer and Auto air business. A life-long resident of Wyanet, he was a member of Wyanet United Methodist Church, a past scout leader and Little League coach, and served on the Wyanet High School Board of Education. He was also a member of the Wyanet Old Car Club . Joe enjoyed "tinkering" and fixing things, country music, dancing and helping others. His children and grandchildren were his life and he doted on his great-grandson. Joe never knew a stranger and was known for his sense of humor. Surviving are one daughter, Sally (Ken) Wilcoxen of Princeton; three sons, Tony Jaggers of Wyanet, Terry (Wendy) Jaggers of Alexandria, Va., and Tracy Jaggers of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren, Johnna and Lindsay Jacobson, and Tyler, Bailey and Michael Jaggers; and one great-grandson, Ethan Turpen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Janella Jaggers; and one brother, Jim Jaggers. Services will be at noon Saturday, April 9, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor David Berry officiating. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family of Kenneth Joe Jaggers for charitable disbursement.
