Junior Clarence Lampkin, 89, of Wyanet, passed away Wednesday, March 18th 2015, at Liberty Village of Princeton. Born November 20, 1925, in DePue to Clarence and Mary (VanCleve) Lampkin, he married Sivilena Long on Aug. 18, 1951, in Princeton. She preceded him in death in September 2012. Surviving are one son, Gary W. Lampkin of Glenview, IL; one daughter, A. Kay (Dan) Hare of Glenview, IL; two grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Cinnamon of Brimfield, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Matthew, five brothers and one sister. He served in the Army during World War II as a member of the 71st Reconnaissance Troop. He worked in construction and was a member of Laborers'' Local 393 in Marseilles, IL. He was also a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton and the VFW of Princeton. A private graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Patrick''s Catholic Cemetery, Sheffield with Father Jeffrey Stirniman of St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Wyanet V.F.W. # 6634 Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue Unit or VFW of Princeton.
