June Doyle, 90, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Liberty Village of Princeton.
The funeral Mass of Christian burial for June will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. James E. Kruse officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. The visitation for June will be held Saturday, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
June was born on May 13, 1932, the daughter of the late State Senator and Mrs. Joseph R. Peterson (Alice Lorenzen).
June was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1950. She then attended Galesburg Cottage Hospital, but married Peter Doyle on September 15, 1951, before receiving her degree. June worked at Spinning Wheel and Scott Williams Finn as a realtor. She was the owner of Red Geranium Tea Room, and then worked as an L.P.N. at Greenfield Retirement Home after completing her nursing degree at I.V.C.C.
June was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Princeton Junior Women's Club. She was a den mother and participated in 4-H and the Girl Scouts, and she was also a bloodmobile volunteer. June will be remembered for her homemade applesauce, hundreds of crocheted afghans, providing meals to those in need, and she was an avid participant at the Bureau County Fair, where she received many ribbons. Above all, she will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
June is survived by her seven children: Gregory Doyle, Kathleen Doyle, Peter (Laurie) Doyle, Melinda (Robert) Swanson, Timothy (Mandy) Doyle, and Joseph (Azar) Doyle; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; her son Michael; her brothers, Robert and Jerry; and her parents.
Donations in June's memory may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church or Evangelical Covenant Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Swanson, and Nicholas, Andrew, Bryan, Travis, Mathew, and Jakob Doyle.
