Julia Ann Nestler

Julia Ann Nester. 70, of Sheffield died at 4:24 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Triumph Greater Specialty Hospital in Peoria. Born Aug. 19, 1940, in Mineral to Edward and Viola (Powers) Brate, she married Kurt Nestler May 7, 1965, in Vero Beach, Fla. He died May 6, 2006. She was a 1958 graduate of Mineral High School. She was the owner and operator of the Sheffield Bulletin for 35 years, retiring in 1999. She had also worked at Citizens First State Bank in Wyanet. She was a member of St. Patrick''s Catholic Church in Sheffield, Sheffield American Legion H.F. Hortz Auxiliary 415 and Hidden Lake Women''s Golf League. She was an avid Bears and Cub fan, loved to golf, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Kyle (Heather) Nestler of Chatham, Kent Nestler of Sheffield and Kory (Stephanie) Nestler of Auburn; two sisters, Shirley (Norb) Gallowich of Crestwood and Jackie (John) Beauprez of Kewnaee; two brothers, Sonny Brate of Michigan and Mickey (Mary) Brate of Spring Valley; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Faith, Brianna and Joshua Nestler. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church, Sheffield, with Father Sebastian officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be after the services in the parish hall. Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield Rescue Squad.
