Judith A. Ellis, 74, of Wyanet died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at her home in Wyanet. She graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1960. She retired after 40 years as an assembly worker for Harper-Wyman in Princeton. She was a member of Wyanet V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 6634. She enjoyed making pies and entering them into competitions, often winning. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing bingo. She was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Princeton, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Hedgespeth) Newman. She married Robert Ellis on Aug. 7, 1971, at the Bureau Township Church. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2011. Surviving are one daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Clausen of Wyanet; three grandchildren, Johnathon and Andrew Ellis, and Angel Clausen all of Wyanet; two brothers, Roger (Judy) Newman of Malden and Leslie (Betty) Newman of Granville; one sister, Carol (Woody) Partain of Wyanet; and several aunts. uncles, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Carrie Johnson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established to the family in her memory.
