Juanita S. Quickle, 96, of Princeton, formerly of Sheffield, died at 5:48 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Hawthorne Inn Supportive Living in Princeton. Born April 8, 1920, in Rio Hondo, Texas, to William F. and Martha (Madsen) Schuneman, she married Readus H. Quickle Oct. 22, 1987, in Sheffield. He died March 20, 1999. Survivors include a stepson, Readus W. (Dorothy) Quickle of Sheffield; a stepdaughter, Rheta M. Wetsel of Dixon; three stepgrandchildren, Annette (Walt) Swift of Dixon, Debra (Jim) Dillow of Dixon and Marketa (Neal) Whittinghill of Heyworth; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two nieces, Martha Robinson of Temple Terrace, Fla., and Kathie Goreth of Tampa, Fla.; and one nephew, Daniel (Betty) Brieser of LeClaire, Iowa. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Marie Hamilton and Ruby Brieser. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1938. She sold retail farm equipment in Sheffield and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Sheffield. She was also involved in farming. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Sheffield.

Even though Aunt Babe was 96 years old, I was certainly not ready to let her go…was hoping for many more years of being able to sit and chat with her, if not in person then via our long phone conversations. I will be missing her so much. She was a classy person, and so very interesting…always up on current events, and the last keeper of our Schuneman family history which she knew and remembered so well. Just want to say: Aunt Babe, I love you, I miss you, and you will always be my favorite aunt !
