November 4, 1963 ~ May 22, 2020
Jonathan Michael Carlson of Princeton, Illinois died unexpectedly at his residence on May 22, 2020. Jon was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on November 4, 1963 to Virginia (Rivers) Casale and G Michael Casale. After moving to Pensacola, Florida in 1965 his mother married James L Carlson and Jon took the last name of Carlson for the rest of his life.

He served in the Marine Corps in the Far East from 22 January 1986 to 15 February 1990 and then moved to Princeton. He worked at Precision Coating, Hudson Cleaning and most recently at the Ace Distribution Center.
Jon had a cheerful personality and was always ready to hear a joke or tell one. He made friends easily.
He is survived by a son, Cody Carlson of Henderson, Kentucky; his Mother, Virginia Hartman of Pensacola, Florida; his sister, Tracy Bonner of Mobile, Alabama; his brother, Joseph Carlson of Pensacola, Florida; his Step-father, James Carlson of Princeton and his dear friend, Kim Quevy of Princeton.
In Jon’s memory, share a cool one and some laughs with a friend. He would have liked that.

Where do I begin with this guy. We bowled, golfed, played tennis together and worked together. This guy was the best. I hadn’t seen him in years and ran into him a month or so ago. It was so good catching up with him. One of the absolute nicest people I’ve ever had the opportunity to be around. Gonna miss you buddy. RIP.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jon when he worked with my family at Hudson Cleaning. Jon was a great guy and so much fun to work with.
I will always appreciate his kind words after my brother Mark’s passing, and his continued regard for our family. He always asked how my parents were doing – he was so kind.
I am so sorry for your loss.
We were shocked to learn of Jon’s passing after Sara and I not long ago saw and visited with him at the Apollo theater. Jon and our Mark were good friends and he was a great asset at Hudson Cleaning while it was family owned. We extend our sympathy at this very sad time. We have wonderful memories of Jon and we are sure you will treasure yours, too.

RIP Jon you’ll be missed
RIP Jon you’ll be missed. I’m glad I got to know you when I did thanks for making me feel liked and just being you.
I only knew Jon as a small kid — the neatest kid I think I have ever known. Jim and Ginger, I am so so sorry to hear this sad sad news. May God be with you and your families in your time of grief. My very best wishes for both of you — and especially for Jon forever.
I met Jon while working with him at Ace. I always found him to be a positive energy in an atmosphere that mostly was not. He always appreciated my sense of humor and had a laugh that made you happy you shared your humor with him. After I moved we kept in touch through F/B. He would comment on something I posted, or I would when he posted, still always funny, sharing our dark type of humor. I just remember he would always respond at work when it was challenging with the comment, “It’s all good”, followed by a smile and a laugh. The world is quieter with the loss of someone who seemed to make a difference each day, whether he was aware he was doing it or not. These days that is very rare.
Im sorry for your loss. Jon was a great friend, excellent co-worker and so full of fun. Miss you my friend !!! R I P .
I can’t believe I won’t be able to see you again.
R.I.P. JC. You will be missed.
