Jon K. Miller, 63, of Sheffield died at 11:50 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at his home in Sheffield. Jon was born July 2, 1955, in Princeton, the son of Virgil Vernon and Billie Faye (Bennett) Miller. He married Elizabeth “Betty” May Harn Sept. 14, 1974. They divorced. Jon met Janet “Jan” Balog and they shared 15 years together. She survives in Sheffield. He graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1973. He worked in the family business, Miller Fertilizer and Miller Trucking. He also worked as a fleet mechanic for Barker Energy in Wyanet for many years. He enjoyed motor homing. Jon and Jan drove their RV to Florida every winter. Jon also enjoyed painting vehicles, and working on cars and trucks and smoking meat in his charcoal smoker. Surviving are three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vernon Kaye Miller; and one sister, Paula Lee Zulkowsky. A private family service will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded.   1. The first time I remember seeing Jon, he was swearing during a meal at Aunt Billie’s. Uncle Virgil told him that if he wanted to swear, he should tell it to the pigs. Jon promptly left the table and we could all hear him outside, telling the pigs just what was on his mind! Our mother was mortified, but I thought he was the bravest person ever.
