John Lee Camp, 83, of Princeton passed away at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born Nov. 22, 1933, in DePue to Joseph and Kerlisa (Carlisle) Camp, he married Norma Steele May 27, 1995, in Bureau. She survives. He was a 1951 graduate of DePue High School. He retired in 1996 from the LTV Steel Mill in Hennepin. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Bureau and the Steel Workers Union. He was a Boy Scout leader in Bureau, served on the Bureau Village Board and was a former mayor of Bureau. Also surviving are three daughters, Rebecca (James) Erwin of Bureau, Susan (Riley) Travis of Wyanet and Robin (Edward Tompkins) Eikenberry of Rock Falls; four sons, Kelly (Karen) Camp of Normal, Clifton (Kat) Camp of Brookfield, N.H., Jeffrey (Jessica) Camp of Joilet and Allen Camp of Princeton; six stepsons, Larry (Joeen) Steele of Peoria, Danny (Bobette) Steele of DePue, Steve (Debbie) Steele of Lacon, Brent (Dawn) Rawling of San Diego, Calif., Jerry (Dawn) Rawling of Mississippi and Troy (Benji) Rawling of Las Vegas, Nev.; 28 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cindy Garrett; one son, Randy Rawling; one brother, Henry Camp; and one sister, Edith Slocum.
