John Eldon Headley

John “Jack” Eldon Headley, 81, of Buda passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria, IL.

Jack was born on August 5, 1942 in Princeton, IL the son of John Mason and Orpha Arletta (Roberts) Headley. He married the love of his life, Dixie Cornman on August 11, 1963 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Jack worked as a machinist for many years prior to his retirement. He was a volunteer fireman with Buda Fire Department for 49 years and a past member of the Buda Jaycees. Jack enjoyed tinkering in his garage, gardening and mowing. He was an avid NASCAR fan especially Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dixie of Buda; two daughters, Jacqui (Dave) Foster of Tiskilwa and Jennifer (Brian) Dunseth of Spring Valley; four grandchildren, Jake Foster, Natalie (Adam) Gahan, Melissa Dunseth, Matthew (Marley) Dunseth; four great grandchildren, Dallas Rice, Cohen Rice, Branson Ramer and Remi Gahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tracey Headley and four brothers, Dennis, Bernard, James and George Headley.

Visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 16, 2023 at Grant- Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Gaile Arnold, officiating. Burial will follow at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda.

Pallbearers will be Dave Foster, Jake Foster, Brian Dunseth, Matthew Dunseth, Adam Gahan and Nathan Headley. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Roberts, Dwaine Roberts, Kathy Mason, Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott.
