Jerry Yarrington, 84 of  Princeton, originally from Bureau passed away at Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tennessee on November 22, 2022. Jerry was born to Charles and Lela (Euard) Yarrington, in Princeton, Illinois on June 9, 1938. He is survived by his wife Alice (Hart)Yarrington, whom he married August 20, 1961 at Putnam Christian Church in Putnam, Illinois.

            Jerry graduated Hall High School in 1956. He worked as a locomotive engineer for the Rock Island and Iowa Interstate Railroad before retiring on June 12, 1998 after 41 years.

            Jerry is survived by his wife Alice, son Jay L. Yarrington of Princeton, Illinois, daughter Amy (Yarrington) Boers of Hollowayville, Illinois, two grandchildren; Cody Boers of Ladd, Illinois and Alyssa Boers of LaSalle, Illinois; two great-grandsons Easton and Layton Salazar ;Sister-in-law Bonnie Dickens; cousins Elaine Bowers, Betty Rosecrans,  niece Suzanne Peters, nephew Barry Bernardi, great- nephew Scott Smith and two great- nieces Jennifer Crocker, Robin Davis and several cousins.

            He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Fay and Audrey.

            Jerry was a member of many organizations and held position on different boards. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #587 A.F. & A.M.,  American Legion, Scottish Rite  Mohammed Temple in Peoria, Illinois; Northern Illinois Shrine Club, Peru, Illinois; Moose Lodge #1339 in Princeton, Illinois; United Transportation Union ( U.T.U), member of the Bureau First Congregational Church board for 38 years, was on the Leepertown School Board for 40 years.

            Services for Jerry will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, Illinois. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Pastor Bonnie Micheletti will be officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Bureau, Illinois. Pallbearers are Cody and Alyssa Boers, Ed Sment, Craig Dickens, Dan Kasperski, Gary Sturm and Ty Sment. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Dickens and Scott Smith. Military Rites will be provided by Princeton Veterans Group. Memorials may be directed to The First Congregational Church in Bureau, Illinois.
