Jerry Howard Erickson

Jerry Howard Erickson, 71, of Evanston, Illinois died Friday, October 25, 2019 at Evanston Hospital.

He was born January 31, 1948 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Lt. Col. (Ret) Howard L. and Jeanne N. (Grupy) Erickson. He married Susan Daujotis on January 28, 1973 in Downers Grove, Illinois. She survives in Evanston.

He is also survived by his mother, Jeanne Erickson of Princeton, Illinois; his 2 children: Colette (Russell) Todd of Evanston and Andrew (Jennifer) Erickson of Silver Springs, Maryland; one grandson, Corbett Todd; one aunt, Margaret Lichty of Lincoln, Nebaska; his cousins: Mark (Val) Campbell of Rogers, Arkansas, Chris (Jim) Ryan, and Dr. David (Judy) Campbell and their children: Katie and Robbie Campbell all of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his father, and aunt and uncles Charlotte and Kenneth Campbell, and Harry "Buck" Grupy. 

Jerry graduated from Cooper High School, Abilene, Texas. He attended the University of Colorado for his freshman years and graduated from Bradley University June 7, 1970 with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Construction Engineering. He was affiliated with Sigma Lambda Chi international scholastic honorary for the building construction industry.

He worked as a Construction and Cost Engineer for Turner Construction. During that time he worked for Disney during the construction of EPCOT.

Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #231 A.F. and A.M. in Wyanet, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Elm Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
