Jeannette Christine Fisher, 70, of Princeton, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at OSF Saint Clare in Princeton after a long courageous battle with COPD.

Chris was born to John and Clara Irene (Bodelson) Atkinson Jr. on May 30, 1953 in Princeton. She graduated from Princeton High School Class of 1971 and Lasalle Beauty School. Chris met Jerry when he was home on leave from the United States Air Force in 1969. They were married on July 30, 1971. Chris later opened her own salon at her home called “Body by Fisher Beauty Salon” where she continued to serve her clients until her retirement in 2010. When she wasn't cooking or baking, Chris enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing board games with her family.  She was also known as a fierce card shark!!  She was also renowned for her coloring skills and PERFECT penmanship. She cherished being involved with her children’s actives throughout the years whether it involved pitching baseballs in Little League or being a Den Mother.   However, her true passion was bowling.  She even won the Women’s Masters Championship in 2006.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Jerry Fisher of Princeton; three children, Scott and Nikki (Adams) Fisher of Peoria, Nichole and Gary Wetsel of Princeton, Nathan and Betsy (Griffith) Fisher of Davenport, IA; eight grandchildren, Dillon, Austin and Taylor Wetsel, Kaylee, Ella, Rowan, Cullen and Nile Fisher; five brothers, Michael, Patrick, Paul, David and Jim Atkinson; and one sister, Sally Pelszynski.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Clara, brother John, and sister Cindy.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Our family invites you to a cookout celebration on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Chris’s daughter’s home; 206 North First Street in Princeton, IL beginning at 12:00pm.
