Jeanette B. Underwood

Jeanette B. Underwood, 82, of Wyanet died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Liberty Village in Princeton.

She was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Princeton, the daughter of Porter Joe and Dorothy (Fletcher) Rutherford. She married Roy Underwood Jr. on Dec. 20, 1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2001.

She graduated from Wyanet High School, with the Class of 1954, and from the Sterling School of Beauty in Sterling in 1969. She had a beauty shop in her home in Wyanet for 38 years.

She loved flower gardening in her yard, decorating for the holidays, crocheting and canning.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Stephanie) Underwood of Wyanet; one granddaughter, Hannah Underwood of Bellingham, Wash.; two sisters, Mary Jane (Curt) Rohr of Ottawa and Nancy (Roy) Mahnesmith of Buda; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Rutherford and Eugene Rutherford.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, March 18, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. A service will follow at noon with the Rev. Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet.

Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Fire and Rescue Squad.

Pallbearers will be Brett Mahnesmith, Jake Mahnesmith, Joe Krogulski, Gary Rohr, Steve Underwood and Travis Rutherford.
