Janice E. Burress

Janice E. Burress, 92, of Princeton passed away at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Country Comfort in Princeton.
Janice was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Princeton, the daughter of Reuben and Grace (Nelson) Arling. She married Burton R. Burress July 22, 1945, at the Mission Covenant Parsonage in Princeton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2007.
She graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1944. Janice was a devoted farmer’s wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She served her Lord at the Congregational Bible Church in Wyanet as a pianist and was actively involved in the Sunday school program.
Surviving are two daughters, Becky (Bill) Isaacson of Princeton and Rita (Craig) Baker of Princeton; two sons, Terry (Marcia) Burress of Princeton and Tim (Karen) Burress of Geneseo; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Ringenberg of Washington, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Thera Ackeberg.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Glenn Foster officiating. Burial will take place in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed at their discretion.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Burress, Jesse Baker, Caleb Baker and Grant Burress.

Janice was one of the kindest, giving, down to earth persons I had the pleasure to know. She will be greatly missed.
Janice was my Sunday school teacher when I was growninf up. And she was a neighbor. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was kind warm & a beautiful smile. My thoughts & prayers to the family. God has gained a beautiful angel.
