Janette Lynn Dunn

Janette Lynn Dunn, 69, of Lake Thunderbird, Putnam, Illinois passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at 10:45 a.m. on November 17, 2022 in the comfort of her home.
Janette was born February 19, 1953 in Kewanee, Illinois to Stanley and Charlene Taylor. Janette graduated from Bradford High School in 1971 and then from the Henry School of Beauty Culture in 1972.
She married Rob Dunn on December 5, 1971 and operated a beauty shop in their home. She ran her salon until her 2 boys were born. She stayed at home raising her boys until they started school. In 1982 the Dunn family adopted Emily Kyung Lee from an orphan home in South Korea.
In 1979, Janette started work at Gill Grain Company as bookkeeper, company payroll and grain buyer. In 2006, Michlig Grain bought the elevator and Janette went on to work as a grain buyer and truck logistics for 11 years before retiring in March, 2017. In the year 2000, Janette started her own travel agency from her home under Champagne Vacations. Janette immensely enjoyed travel and found pleasure in helping friends and clients find that perfect destination.
Janette always stayed busy, in 1995 she started recording weather for the National Weather Service and continued to serve for 10 years. Janette served as a leader for Church and Community Projects, Treasurer for St. Timothy's Lutheran Church and served on the Bradford Village Board for 4 years. She enjoyed travel, camping, boating and fishing with family and her pets.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. in Bradford, Illinois at Grant-Johnson Funeral home. There will be services at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Princeton, Illinois. Pastor William Shields will be officiating.
She is survived by her husband Rob, two sons Jason (Cyndi) Dunn and Joshua (Rayann) Dunn and four grandchildren; Gavin, Regan, Jenna and Josie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Emily.

Janette was always full of energy and was never without a smile on her face! She was always about her family and friends and will truly be missed… So sorry to hear of her passing… My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to her entire family and friends…
