Janet Lee Morris

Janet Morris, 73, of Neponset, went home to be with the Lord at 9:17 PM, Friday December 25, 2015 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria. Services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Emmanuel Baptist Church , 220 W Mill Street, Kewanee at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Kewanee. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kewanee. Janet was born October 13, 1942 in Galesburg, daughter of Russell & Margaret (Stots) Holmes. Janet married Ronald Morris June 4, 1960. He survives along with four children; Gale Rodgers, JoAnn (Chuck) Hamilton, Kathy (Andy) Harrington, Richard (Wilene) Morris. Seven grandchildren; Curtis (Chelsey) Rodgers, Autumn Weygand (Mike Rees), Crystal Hamilton, Thomas ( Chandra) Hamilton, Rachel (Jesse) Stone, Destiny Zoss, and Hayden Morris. Four great grandchildren; Jonah Rodgers, Matthew Ruble, Hoyt Rees, and Carston Rodgers. She is also survived by one brother Bill Holmes of California. She is preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Janet worked at Elgin Watch Factory and Harper Wyman. She was a housewife and mother. She loved her family and her church. She enjoyed fishing and feeding the birds and squirrels. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
