Janet A. (Noder) Horack, 66, of Bradford passed away at 7:32 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois after a valiant battle of ovarian cancer. Jan was born on October 28, 1949, in Spring Valley to Edwin and Marjorie (Swift) Noder. She married Steven Horack on December 29, 1965 in Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Edwina Kay Harmon. Jan is survived by her husband Steven and their four children, Brad (Kari) Horack of Kewanee, Greg (Cassy) Horack of Chillicothe, Eric (Kimberly) Horack of Peoria, and Jill (Ron) Walsh of Bradford; five grandchildren, Will, Alyssa, Megan, Corbin, and Marli; nine step-grandchildren, Heather, Ryan, Lindsei, Monica, Natasha, Niko, Kaitlin, Jeffery, and Peyton; several great grandchildren, one brother, Larry (Cheri) Noder of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews. Jan was the Boyd''s Grove United Methodist Church organist/pianist for 50 years, the church secretary for Boyd''s Grove and Leet UMC since 1993, and the pianist for the Bradford School Music Program since 2010. She started helping her mother bake the cakes we all know and loved around 1984 and eventually took over the business. She devoted her life towards her family and her church where she was very involved with the U.M.W. She never missed a sporting event that her children and grandchildren participated in and even after she was diagnosed with cancer, she continued to attend the events. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford. Funeral will be Wednesday, March 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Boyd''s Grove United Methodist Church in Bradford with Pastor Amy Holman officiating. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery following the service. Funeral dinner will be held at the Bradford American Legion following the burial. Memorials may be made to Boyd''s Grove United Methodist Church, Illinois Cancer Center or the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
