Jane C. Dunlap of Bradford , IL passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2011. She was 93. A lifetime resident of Bradford, she was born Oct 14, 1917 to George Arthur & Nelle (Blaisdell) Marsh. She married Robert Dunlap on June 14, 1940. She is survived by three children Letitia Leeper of Bradford, IL; Dr. Robert Dunlap of San Diego, CA; Lucinda (George) Jacobs of Modesto, CA; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and her cat, Tiger. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother, her husband, Bob and granddaughter Alison Jacobs. Jane graduated from Bradford High School with the class of ''35, Stephens College in Columbia, MO and the University of IL Champaign in 1939. She was a teacher beginning her career in Aledo, IL and later teaching at both Bradford High School and Bradford Grade school. She was responsible for forming the first girl''s basketball team at the local grade school in the late 1950''s. Jane was a 4-H leader for the Bradford Wonder Workers for 15 years. She enjoyed playing piano and assisted her husband, a mortician at the piano or organ during funeral services at the Dunlap Funeral Home. Jane was a member of the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. She took pleasure in visiting and sharing conversations with shut-ins and residents of the nursing homes through out the area. Frequently bringing them roses from her rose garden. Jane loved to travel with her husband and children to their summer home in Fish Creek, WI. They would spend their winters in California with their son & daughter. Jane was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the game well in to her 90''s. Visitation will be 5-8 Friday, June 10, 2011 in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford. Services will be at Leet Memorial United Methodist Church, Bradford at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Amy Holman officating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery. Pallbearers: Charles Leeper, Andrew Mehrkens, Cole Dunlap, Geoffrey Jacobs, Paul Ehnle & Chip Moody Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Ewing, Jason Loudenburg & Ronald Tuthill.
