James J. Kunzle

James “Cream” J. Kunzle, 78, of Bradford, Illinois died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at OSF St. Luke’s Hospital, Kewanee, Illinois.

James was born June 21, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Josef and Anna (Hoch) Kunzle. He married Emma Carroll March 25, 1983 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2005.

He is survived by 3 sons: James (Lorri) Kunzle of East Moline, IL, Christopher (Rebecca) Kunzle of Toulon, IL, and Jon (Cindy) Kunzle of Moline, IL; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Loretta Dobias of Tacoma, Washington and June (Ray) Gavin of Glenview, IL; many nieces and nephews and his girlfriend, Nancy Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son: Douglas.

James worked at BF Goodrich for 30 years and was in the Coast Guard Reserves for 8 years. He was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford, IL and the Bradford American Legion Post #445. James enjoyed Lake Broadmoor.

A funeral service will be held 10:30a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford with Father John Cyr officiating.  A visitation will be held Friday, January, 25, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, Illinois. Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Bradford, with military rites accorded by the Bradford American Legion Post #445. Memorials may be directed to the Bradford American Legion, Bradford, Illinois.
