Jackie Ray Harding

Jackie Ray Harding, 54, of Sterling, Illinois, formerly of Bradford, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Cornerstone Special Care in Sterling, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jackie was born on March 5, 1972, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Robert and Susan (Sturm) Harding. He lived most of his life at Exceptional Care and Training Center in Sterling, spending the last 11 months at Cornerstone Special Care.

Jackie enjoyed teasing his fellow residents and nurses. He also loved playing with trucks and any toy that would light up or make a vibrating noise. Jackie especially loved eating pudding. His playful personality and sense of humor brought joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jackie is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan Harding of Kewanee; his brother, Richard “Rich” (Tina Purett) Harding of Braidwood; one nephew, Connor Harding; and one niece, Brooklyn Harding.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Cornerstone Special Care will host a memorial service for those who wish to attend, with the date to be determined. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Bradford Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Special Care for educational equipment or to Unity Hospice Foundation, both in Sterling, Illinois.
