Irma Beth Mechling, 85, of Wyanet, Illinois passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, Illinois.

She was born December 22, 1935 in Princeton, Illinois the daughter of Irvin Lawrence and Nannie Pearl (Carter) Dabler.

Irma married Gene Alwyn Mechling in Buda, Illinois on September 4, 1965. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1999.

She is survived by two daughters: Tami (Keith) Piper of McNabb, IL, and Jill Mechling-Madsen of Princeton, IL; five step-children: Dennis (Cindy) Mechling of Buda, IL, Linda "Sis" Walters of Buda, Deborah Mechling of Kewanee, IL, Virginia Morris of Wyanet, and Marjorie (Don) Milby of Mineral, IL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, John Mechling, one daughter, Cynthia Hotchkiss and her brother, Lawrence Dabler.

 Irma graduated from Manlius High School.

 She worked at Harper-Wyman in Princeton for many years and was a owner and operator Nana's Petals and Uniques in Wyanet.

 Irma enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family.

 Cremation rites will be accorded and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Buda, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue or the Raymond A. Sapp Memorial Library. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.

  1. I was her nurse for many years and we would sit and talk about the way kids act the world , gardening , flowers and so much more I could sit and talk to this wonderful woman for hours . Loved her so much one of my favorite people I am so disappointed she won’t be coming back 🙁 much love to your family she was a great woman …
