Irene Mae House

Irene Mae House, 92, of Princeton died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Cabin Livin Senior Care in Hennepin. Born April 19, 1923, Algona, Iowa, to Albert and Leota Mary (Bolin) Hansen, she married LaVerne Harvey House on Jan. 5, 1944, in Princeton. He died Jan. 2, 2009. She graduated from Mineral High School in 1941 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bureau Township Community Church and Explorers Bible Study. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and mowing the yard. She spent half a day cooking for family and friends. Surviving are three sons, Harvey (Maria) House of Princeton, William A. (Lane) House of Sheffield and Jerry (Cindy) House of LaMoille; two daughters, Carolyn (Frank) Antonovitz of South Bend, Ind., and Marilyn (Chip) Johnston of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Russell (Gloria) Hansen of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Vernon Hansen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Bureau Township Community Church, Princeton, with Pastor Shane House and Pastor Marvin Claassen officiating. Burial will be in the Manilas Cemetery in Manlius. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the Bureau Township Community Church or the donor''s choice. A special thanks to Lucinda Dixon at Cabin Livin for the extraordinary love and care she gave to our mother in her final days.
