Howard J. Bogner, 93, a resident of Independence Village in Peoria for 15 years, formerly of Camp Grove, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon. He was born April 5, 1918, in Camp Grove to Frank and Gertrude (Barnes) Bogner. He was the last survivor of 12 in the Bogner family. He was a 1935 graduate of Bradford High School. He was a lifetime farmer in the Bradford area. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford and the Stark County Farm Bureau. Surviving are four sisters-in-law, Doris Bogner of Bradford, Aileen Bogner of Creve Coeur, Barbara Bogner of Lebanon, Tenn., and Joyce Austin of Morton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Jack, Eddie, James, William, Robert and Richard; and five sisters, Mary Maher, Jean Moore, Arlene Britt, Rita Frazier and Dorothy Westerfield. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford, with Father Vein Van Do officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Bradford. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the church. Memorials may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford.
