Helen Louise Royce

Helen Louise Royce, 95, of Buda, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Helen was born on August 13, 1930, in Elkhorn, WI the daughter of Harrison and Esther (Lundborg) Farrar. She graduated from Buda High School with the Class of 1948. Later in life, Helen earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Black Hawk College.

Helen married the love of her life, Allen Royce, on September 12, 1948, at the United Methodist Church in Buda. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.

Helen served as Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Buda while also working as secretary and bookkeeper for Allen Royce Trucking. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Buda, where she taught Sunday School and participated in numerous church activities and events.

Helen enjoyed hard work, whether it was yard work, gardening, canning, or tending to her flowers. She loved home improvement projects, quilting, and sewing. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family and the many memories they created together.

Helen is survived by her four children, Rosemary (John) Schullery of Indian Trail, NC, Larry (Donelle) Royce of Council Bluff, IA, David Royce of Buda and Diane Tinsley of Buda; eight grandchildren, Tom Royce, Kelli (Tyler) Harkness, Kyle (Ya Lan) Schullery, Brett (Lea) Schullery, Leah Garcia, Elvis Royce, Rachel Tinsley, Hanna (Cole) Callaway and 10 great grandchildren, Nora, Violet, Leonidas, Arianna, Gabrielle, Olivia, Kira, Ahmad Jr., Khaleesi and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandchild, Patrick.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. A graveside service will immediately follow at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda, with Gaile Arnold officiating.
