Helen Kay Oloffson, 83, of Manlius, Illinois passed away August 13, 2021 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rockford, Illinois
Kay was born June 5th, 1938 the daughter of Richard and Gladys (Hodge) Marine.
She married Harold Francis Oloffson on March 2nd, 1956. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children: Kelly (Dennis) Nelson DeDecker, Karla (Tim) Shaw, Tim (Theresa) Oloffson, Krista Carrell, Chuck (Lisa) Oloffson; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in law Ronald Nelson
She worked over 40 years for the Bureau Valley School District as a bus driver.
Kay was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was devoted to the Bureau Valley School district and enjoyed Manlius rolle bolle and playing golf. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a bus driver for many years she impacted the lives of many children who speak highly of her. Kay’s grandchildren adored her and described her as cute, funny, and short. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manlius, Illinois. A private graveside service will be held in Manlius Cemetery.

All the bus barn team gone now. The fun they had together; the effort they put into their jobs-all to make a system run smoothly and without notice. Kay was a good part of that team, never to be forgotten by people who knew her.
She was a very good aunt and fun to be with. I’ll miss her.
