Gladys M. Shelton, 93, of Colorado, formerly of Princeton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011. Born May 8, 1918, in Magnolia, Ky., to William F. and May (Benningfield) Dyer, she married William Shelton Nov. 4, 1938, in Buffalo, Ky. He died July 18, 1980. She was a member of the Princeton Wesleyan Church, Bureau County Senior Center Association and The Lincoln Museum in Hodgenville, Ky. While in Princeton, she was a member of Sharps and Flats Kitchen Band. Surviving are one daughter, Vicki Ferguson of Broomfield, Colo.; one granddaughter, Sherri Jewby of Arvada, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, William and Joseph Jewby of Arvada, Colo.; one sister, Lucille (Harvey) Lindberg of Princeton; three sisters-in-law, Kay Dyer and Kathleen Dyer, both of Princeton, and Anna Dyer of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Doug Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials maybe directed to education fund for the grandchildren in care of Grant-Johnson Funeral Homes Inc., 30 W. Mechanic St., Princeton, IL 61356.
