Floyd H. Pruitt, 87, of Tiskilwa died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Colonial Hall Care Center in Princeton. Born Dec. 25, 1922, in White Hall to Joseph and Clara (Book) Pruitt, he married Geraldine B. Hanson Sept. 5, 1970, in Princeton. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Joe Pruitt of Rockville, Md.; one daughter, Janet (Paul) Lohaus of Putnam; and one grandson, Paul Taylor of Hopland, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and eight sisters. He received a master''s degree in agriculture from the University of Illinois. He was an agriculture teacher at Tiskilwa High School in the early 1950s, and had worked as a representative for Funk''s Seed Co. and at Farm Service in Tiskilwa. He vice president and farm manager at Citizens First National Bank from 1967 to 1984. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the Tiskilwa Community Church and Princeton American Legion. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Tiskilwa Community Church with Pastor Mike Abel officiating. Burial will be in Mount Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa, with military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the Tiskilwa Community Church and Tiskilwa Rescue Squad. Pallbearers: Paul Lohaus, Paul Taylor, Jim Joritz, John Revell, Dean Rasmussen and John Taylor. Honorary pallbearers: Charles Cox and Kenneth Wildemuth.
