Fern M. Larson Marlow, 95, of Annandale, Va., formerly of Wyanet, passed away. Fern was born on Aug. 20, 1915, in Wyanet to Hazel (Golding) and Paul Larson. She attended grade school and high school in Wyanet, and continued her education in MacMurray College, Jacksonville, Ill. for two years before transferring to the University of Illinois. She graduated from the College of Liberal Arts in 1937. On Dec. 6, 1941, she and Lt. Herman Marlow were married in the Wyanet Methodist Church. They lived on various Army Posts, and while her husband was overseas in World War II., she came back to Wyanet and lived with her parents. Her husband was Regular Army until his retirement. During his last two tours of duty at the Pentagon and Ft. McNair and after his retirement in Annandale, Va., she was a real estate agent with Town and Country Real Estate of Annandale, and was active in the Annandale United Methodist Church. Lt. Col. (Retired) Marlow passed away on Jan. 2, 1989, and Mrs. Marlow continued living in their home in Annandale. Survived by her children John H. (Diane Czamara) Marlow of Orchard Park, N.Y., Hazel A. (Louis) Miller of Brunswick, Ga., and Ellen F. (Thomas) Adams of Woodbridge, Va., two grandchildren, Jennifer (Douglas) Gray of Alexandria, Va. and Aaron Miller of Royal Oak, Mich., great grandson Nathan Gray, and her sister Inez (late William) Coffeen of Clemson, S.C. She was preceded in death by her brother Clark Larson. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, in Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Katie Voigt officiating.
