Elmer H. Larson, 85, of Princeton, formerly of Mesquite, Texas, and Sheffield, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Liberty Village of Princeton. Born June 6, 1925, in Mora, Minn., to Edwin and Myrta (Mayne) Larson, he married Inez A. Hubbard Oct. 20, 1945, in Princeton. She died July 8, 2005. He was a graduate of Buda High School. He farmed for 21 years, sold Watkins Products and was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Services, retiring Oct. 1, 1992. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Church of God in Buda, Model A Restorers Club in Dallas, Texas, and was a Gold Coat at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Larson of Buda and Judy K. (Thomas) Walter of DeWitt, Iowa; two sons, Richard H. (Betty Ann) Larson of Mesquite, Texas, and John E. (Angie) Larson of Mesquite, Texas; four sisters, Kathleen Crisman of Mendota, Doris (Willard) Elmore of Princeton, Edwina (Gary) Christiansen of Bloomington and Betty (David) White of Kewanee; three stepbrothers, James (Mary) Moore of Buda, Merle (Jeanne) Moore of Neponset and Harry (Beverly) Moore of Kewanee; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one stepbrother, Gilbert Moore. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bunker Hill Church of God, Buda, with the Rev. Fred Criminger officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, LaMoille. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Larry, and Family, Sorry, to hear of your Fathers death. I knew your Dad. He took a bus trip to Branson . with us one year. I remember him being a very kind, gentle man.
