Ellen Louise Morris

March 5, 1955 ~ July 13, 2022
Ellen Louise Morris, aged 67 of Sheffield, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 13th, 2022 after struggling with multiple health problems for over a year. She was born on March 5th, 1955 in Princeton, IL to Robert and Frances Anderson.
She is survived by her sons Greg (Brittany) Jensen of Lowell, IN, Michael (Kelly) Morris of Princeton, IL, and Jonathan Morris of Sheffield, IL; grandchildren Jillian and Jack Jensen and Kai, Mazie and Max Morris; mother, Frances Anderson of Princeton, IL; siblings Mary (Sean) Redmond of Fallbrook, CA, John (Jean) Anderson of Lakewood, CO, Jane (Sean) Tractman of Bisbee, AZ, Elizabeth (Dave) White of Leawood KS, and Margaret (Nick) Petrie of Shorewood, WI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Anderson, daughter Caroline Jensen, and grandson Jacob Jensen.
Ellen had an idyllic childhood in the elm-lined streets of post-war Princeton. She attended catholic school and spent summers at the public pool, which were both within walking distance of her home.
Ellen attended Princeton High School until the age of 16 when she became pregnant. Through two tumultuous marriages, she would have her fourth child before her 25th birthday. She was a dedicated mother and did her best to provide for them despite the lack of support from their fathers.
She instilled in her children a love for books and an appreciation for public libraries. She got her GED when her oldest was in high school and then attended Black Hawk East College, earning an Associate’s degree. She worked at Walmart in Kewanee for many years before retiring in 2020.
She will be remembered for her wry sense of humor, love for music, obsession with television shows of all kinds, and love for her children and grandchildren.
She has requested her body be donated to a medical school for research. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
