Elizabeth E. Wood, 88, of Wyanet, Illinois died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born May 22, 1929 in Wyanet, Illinois the daughter of Earl T. and Pearl M. (Smith) Hamrick. Elizabeth married Wilbur H. Wood August 21, 1949 in Wyanet, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 12, 1999. Elizabeth graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1947. She was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk at several Princeton stores. She attended the Wyanet Community Bible Church and helped with crafts during vacation Bible School. As a homemaker she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and craftwork. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by 3 children: Carlyn (Judy) Wood of Wyanet, Illinois, Sherry (John) Lange of Walnut, Illinois, and Linda (Duane) Rod of Princeton, Illinois; 7 grandchildren: Sarah Wood, Benjamin (Beatty) Wood, Amie (Erik) Ellberg, Chad Lange, Brian Lange, Eric (Amanda) Rod, Dana (Todd) Maynard; 6 great-grandchildren: Emily, Eli, Blake, Jayce, Brynn, and Tyler; one sister, Irene Moore of Mackinaw, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandson, Michael Lange, 2 brothers: Clyde Hamrick and Stacy Hamrick and 2 sisters: Mildred Woods and Georgia Muriekes. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jack Stites of the Wyanet Community Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Raymond Sapp Memorial Library in Wyanet. Such a sweet precious lady. . I would see her when Fawcett’s Pharmacy was in the other building. She always had a smile on her face. May the Lord bless you.
