Eleanore M Knudsen

Eleanore M. Knudsen, 87, of Galesburg, formerly of Sheffield, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Galesburg Terrace in Galesburg. Born July 14, 1923, in Chicago to Edward F. and Lanora (Reif) Topel, she married Leonard A. Knudsen in May 1942. He died in September 1974. She was a graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago. Surviving are three sons, Gary S. Knudsen of Monterey, Calif., Neil A. Knudsen and Allan S.(Sue) Knudsen of Schoolcraft, Mich.; one sister, Evelyn M. Ohlson of Justice, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Shirlee Topel of Arlington Heights; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, June Janosik; and one brother, Edward J. Topel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Manlius, with the Rev. Brenda Lovick officiating. Burial will be in the Sheffield Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the donor''s choice.
