Edmond Kenneth Ryan, 77, of Wyanet, Illinois passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, Illinois surrounded by his family.

Kenny was born January 7, 1942 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Harry and Drucilla (McIntyre) Ryan. He married Mary E. Hankins September 16, 1961 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henry, Illinois. They shared 58 years together. She survives in Wyanet, Illinois.

Also surviving are 5 children: Glenda (Larry) Klingenberg of Wyanet, Allen Ryan of Wyanet, Todd (Julie Maloy) Ryan of Princeton, Richard (Stacey) Ryan of Wyanet, and Randall (Serena) Ryan  of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren: Jerad (Elizabeth) Klingenberg, Adam (Samantha) Klingenberg, Meghan Ryan, Trevor Ryan, Kerry Ryan, Jordan Brown, Abby (Dillon) Mattingly, Bryanna (Nick Kunz) Smith, Dominique (Sal Guerrero) Smith, Ashley (Ky) Mariman, Ava Ryan, and Sophie Ryan; 13 great-grandchildren Kelsea, Jadeyn, Brysen, and Addysen Klingenberg, Landon and Macie Mattingly, Maya, Brantley, and Colton Kunz, Amelia Guerrero, Gage, Remington, and Knox Mariman; 3 sisters: Shirley Foglesonger of Bradford, IL, Marcella Fritch of Wyoming, and Jane Childers, of Marion, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents,4 siblings: Ronald Ryan, Rosemary Breese, James Ryan, and John Ryan.

He graduated from Wyoming High School with the Class of 1960.  He worked as a technician at AT&T for over 40 years.

Kenny served as radio communications in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Fire Island, Alaska. He was a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post #91 and a social member of the Wyanet VFW Post #6634. He was on the Wyanet School Boards, Wyanet Village Board, Wyanet volunteer fire department, he was an EMT with the Wyanet Rescue Unit, and he coached Wyanet youth baseball. Kenny loved spending time with family and friends, especially taking his grandchildren on adventures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and playing cards. Kenny and Mary wintered in Florida for the past 18 years and he enjoyed spending time with his Swan Lake friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Wyoming, Illinois with Father John Cyr officiating. Burial will take place in St. Dominic's Catholic Cemetery, Wyoming with military rites accorded by the Wyoming American Legion Post #91. A visitation will be held from 4-7pm Monday, November 25, 2019 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois with a Rosary Service recited at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue and the Wyoming American Legion Post #91.
