Duane Barker

Duane Barker, 64, of Sheffield died at 9:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at his home in rural Sheffield. Born March 7, 1951, in Stockbridge to Forest and Mary Francis (Whitaker) Barker, he married Ruth Ann Coffin April 9, 1973, in Knox, Ind. She survives. He was employed by Monterey Mushrooms in Princeton. He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class during Vietnam. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Francis Bailey of Leslie, Mich.; one daughter, Tealitha (Keith) Wiemken of Sheffield; one son, Duane A. Barker of Princeton; three grandsons, Brandon M. Kusmierz of Princeton, Gage D. Hurley of Princeton and Conner Duane Barker of Sheffield; two sisters, Alice Minix of Royalton, Ky., and Priscilla Clark of Leslie, Mich.; and four brothers, Clifton Barker of Princeton, Danny Barker of Sayersvile, Ky., Bobby (Sherry) Barker of South Bend, Ind., and Calvin (Patty) Barker of Plymouth, Ind. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Chalmer Barker; and one sister, Joyce Barker. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to his family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Duane. I haven’t been in contact for years, but he was a great guy.
