Dorothy Ann Comp

Dorothy Ann Comp, 92, of Buda, IL passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. 

Dorothy was born on March 5, 1931 in Tampico the daughter of Robert and Diana (Denton) Glass. She married Wayne “PeeWee” Newton Comp on October 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2003. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, trips to the casino, traveling to Wisconsin to go fishing on the Big Mississippi River. She also loved socializing with family and friends over a cup of coffee. She enjoyed making cherished memories with her grandchildren growing up.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Linda Schmidt of Buda; four grandchildren, Christine (David) Lewis, Steven Schmidt, Amber (Matthew Bell) Schmidt and Ashley Schmidt; five great grandchildren, Payton (Griff Piper) Glafka, Emma (Dylan Moore) Glafka, Logan Bailey, Bradley Bell and Archer Bell; great-great granddaughter, Emersyn Moore and great-great grandson on the way. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Robert Glass, JR and sister, Thelma Lauritzen.

Graveside services will be at 11:30am on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda with Gaile Arnold, officiating. Burial will follow immediately. For those who would like to join, a light lunch will be served at the family home in Buda following the service. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the family in Dorothy’s memory.
