Doris Louise Bogner

Doris Louise Bogner, 89, of Bradford, IL passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at her home in her family’s care surrounded by the love she deserved.
Doris was born on August 9, 1934 in Wyoming, IL the daughter of Raymond and Ada (Driscoll) Kinsella. She married Donald “Bill” Bogner on June 30, 1956 in Camp Grove, IL. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2007. Doris attended nurse’s training at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL where she continued to work for 40 years after her graduation. After her retirement in 1995 she became the St. John’s Parish nurse for many years. Doris touched the lives of so many people and cared dearly for her patients that everyone she met was a friend.
Doris was very active in her community as an advocate for mental health. She was a member of the Stark and Henry County Mental Health Board and the Community Health Clinics. Doris also was on the Library Board, a member of the Bradford Book Club and enjoyed taking yoga classes at the library. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the alter and rosary society through the church. Doris was active with the American Legion Auxiliary in Bradford and cherished attending the fish fries and selling raffle ticket for their cake walk. She even won Bradford Women of the Year. Doris and Bill also decided to purchase a farm to raise Black Angus Cattle and Hogs for fun in their free time prior to his passing.
Doris is survived by her six children, Frank (Laurie) Bogner of Geneva, Mark (Shelly) Bogner of Hennepin, Amy (Chuck) Peterson of Island Lake, Andy Bogner of Bradford, Dennis Bogner of Bradford and Lynne (John) Wright of Tiskilwa; 13 grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Jacobs, Seth Bogner, Lauren (Brandon)Beggs, Alex (Uzma) Bogwani, Morgan (Tom) McConnaughhay, Dallas (Jaime) Bogner, Sarah (Matt) Dresbach, Chase (Mary) Peterson, Chadd Peterson, Mary Cay Peterson, Logan Peterson, Bailey Wright and Jessica Wright; 8 great- grandchildren and one sister, Mary (Bob) Reincke of Libertyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Kinsella and great-grandson, Braxton McConnaughhay.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm with Rosary Service at 7:00pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Grant- Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford with Father John Thieryoung, officiating. Burial will immediately follow the services in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Bradford.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to OSF Cancer Center in Peoria or the Bradford Public Library.

I was very fortunate to work with and get to know Doris at the specialty clinics. Over thirty years later, she remains one of the best people I have known.
So sorry for the loss of your Mom and Grandmother and Greatgrandmother. We were neighbors for many many years until 2019 when I moved permanently to Florida. Doris was a great lady and will be thought of fondly by many persons. Love and Blessings!!!

I was very sorry to hear of Doris’ passing. While growing up in Bradford, I remember her as a wonderful woman who was always so upbeat and friendly. I know she will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
