Doris Jane Woods

Doris Jane Woods, 91, of Ocala, Fla., died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in Ocala, Fla. Born Nov. 1, 1918, in Buda to Ralph and Allie (Gutshall) Roberts, she married Floyd W. Woods Feb. 27, 1943, in Buda. He died in 1970. She was a 1936 graduate of Buda High School. She was a clerical worker for the Orange County Health Department. She was a charter member of University Congregational Church in Orlando, Fla., and a member of Buda American Legion Auxiliary 261, the Salt & Pepper Club and the Gator Booster Club. Surviving are one daughter, the Rev. Victoria Mae Woods of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Robert (Joan) Roberts of Venice, Fla.; four sisters, Mildred Martin of Noblesville, Ind., Lois Arnold and Effie JoAnn Gerard, both of Buda, and Ruth (Richard) Hobrock of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William Arthur Roberts, Fred Roberts, James Roberts and Richard Roberts; and two sisters, Phyillis Marchello and Roberta Grafton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jane Courtright officiating. Burial will be in Hopeland Cemetery, Buda. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Hopeland Cemetery in Buda.
