Doris D. Griffin

Doris D. Griffin, 85, of Sheffield died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Colonial HealthCare and Rehabilitation Centre in Princeton. Born May 24, 1929, in Concord Township to Irvin and Doris (Roberts) Fox, she married Russell Spratt in Sheffield. He died Oct. 14, 1973. She then married John Griffin in 1984 in Florida. He died Sept. 12, 2008. She was an activities aide at Prairie View Nursing Home in Princeton. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Sheffield, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and a member of Sheffield American Legion Auxiliary Unit 415. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and a 4-H leader in Sheffield. Surviving are one son, Steve (Sue) Spratt of Princeton; one daughter, Nancy (Larry) Ray of Springfield; two grandchildren, Michael Spratt of Lewistown and Stephanie Molln of Princeton; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Molln of Princeton, Ella Spratt of Lewistown, and Blain and Jake Myers of Lewistown; and one brother, Roger (Jean) Fox of Wyanet. She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Morris, Floyd, Jake, Joe and Leon Fox. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield. Memorials may be direct to the United Church of Christ in Sheffield.
