Dora Mae Philhower

Dora Mae Philhower, 91, of Tiskilwa died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at home. Born Nov. 21, 1920, in Raywick, Ky., to Joseph and Mattie (Allen) Sullivan, she married Charles W. Philhower May 27, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Charlene (Bill ) Hall of Tiskilwa; two sons, Bill (Susan) Philhower of Geneseo and Randy Philhower of Tiskilwa; two granddaughters, Donita (Max) Olds of Wyanet and Lindsay (Brandon) Sierens of Tiskilwa; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Georgia Philpott; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Phipott. She was the co-owner and operator of Philhower Electric, Plumbing and Heating in Tiskilwa, She was a member of the Tiskilwa Methodist Church and Loyal Daughters, and was a Cub Scout pack leader for three years. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Mike Abel, pastor of Tiskilwa Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Tiskilwa Community Church.

we are sorry to learn that Bill’s mom’s journey has ended. We are sure that she has left you with a lot of memories. So as you bike the trails you will reflect back on those memories periodically. Enjoy them they are a gift of life. May all of us manage to have the long journey that your mother had. So keep on biking and enjoy the journey of life.
