Donald Keith "Donny" Andrews

Donald Keith “Donny” Andrews, 76, of Buda passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, on the farm working on the barn. Donny was born July 4, 1939, in Buda, the son of Carl and Mildred (Law) Andrews. He graduated from Buda High School in 1957. Donny was united in marriage to Marietta Coppejans on June 14, 1958, in St. Patrick''s Catholic Church in Sheffield. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He was a lifetime farmer in rural Buda and also sold seed for Great Lakes for several years. Donny was a member of the Buda Jaycees, FFA and 4-H. Farming wasn''t just his occupation, but a passion. He also enjoyed doing construction projects. He loved reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, watching football and listening to country music. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. Most of all, he loved his family, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marietta; one daughter, Sandy Andrews of West DesMoines, Iowa; one son, Steve (Becky) Andrews of Tiskilwa; two grandchildren, Michael Andrews and Elise (Jake Schmidtt) Andrews; two stepgrandchildren, Justin (Tiffany) Carroll and Amy Reuter; one great-granddaughter, Raelyn; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Makenna, Austin, Tylor, Chelsea, Shelby, Aiden and Skyler; one sister, Nancy Patterson of Galva; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Bill Patterson; and his great-niece, Kaitlyn Therman. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church in Sheffield with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hopeland Cemetery, Buda, where military honors will be accorded by Buda American Legion Post 261. Visitation for Donny will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Hopeland Cemetery Association and St. Patrick''s Catholic Church.

Shocked to hear of Don’s passing, We will miss him coming into the shop, Always seemed to be in a good mood. Glad that we had the privilege to serve you guys through the years.
