Donald “Buzz” Richard Eble, 88, of Altona, IL formerly of Toulon on September 19, 2024 departed from his earthly life and transitioned to his heavenly one with Christ.   

Buzz was born on October 25, 1935 in Bradford, IL the son of George and Faye (Comp) Eble. He married Marilyn Dietz on April 21, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford, IL. Buzz was a graduate of Bradford High School and went on to study at University of Illinois. In his younger years he farmed in Bradford and Toulon until going to work as a service technician at John Deere in Wyoming and then transferred to Kewanee until his retirement. While his children were young, he was a Cub Scout Leader for their troop. Buzz was a member of the Toulon Lions Club and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, small home projects and spending time with his dog Rascal. Most of all he loved his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn of Altona; four children, Teresa Ellis of Toulon, Gary (Janice) of Tiskilwa, Brian (Beth) Eble of Queen Creek, AZ and Mary (Robert) Maskiewicz of Altona; three grandchildren, Nathan Eble, Renee Hathaway, Dylan Eble; two great-grandchildren, Will and Rowan Hathaway; one brother, Larry (Janet) Eble of Kewanee; one sister, Judy (Joe) Bachman of Roanoke, IL; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Mary Loudenberg, Jim Eble and Edith Bosch.

Visitation will be 4:00pm-6:00pm on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford with Father John Baptist Uwigada, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
