Diane Marie Beach

Diane M. Hegwood Atchley Beach, of Camp Grove, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Kewanee Care Home in Kewanee, IL.
Born September 3, 1958, Diane was the only daughter of Bill and Doris (Hountz) Hegwood. She married Greg E. Beach, Sr. on December 22, 2001.
Diane is survived by a large loving family, which includes her parents; her 3 brothers and sisters-in law: David and Katina, Danny and Helen, and Mike and Donna- Donna was also her lifelong best friend; her children: Brandon, Blossem, and Kristin, and step-son, Greg Beach, Jr.; her grandchildren: McKenzie, Morgan, Marcus, Payton, Michelle, and Roman; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her husband, Greg.
Diane was a natural born caregiver, and spent her life taking care of others. She became a mother at a young age and worked caring for many other children throughout the years, and then later caring for elderly members of the community. She was also employed for several years at Camp Grove State Bank, until she became too ill to work. She loved her time with the friends she made there. She was treated like family.
Diane was a lover of animals, always taking in strays and telling stories of her unusual childhood pets, Trigger and Sandy. She was also a big music lover. She was a wealth of knowledge of the music she grew up with and of her adult years, and often referenced music to remember when a particular event in her life had occurred.
Her greatest joy though, was her family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her, and despite her many health struggles, she devoted herself to doing everything she could for and spending as much time as she could with her family. She was and always will be our rock. She left behind a legacy of care and selflessness and strength that we can only hope to aspire to. She will be loved and missed beyond measure. At this time, the family is respecting the challenges put upon us all by the continuing COVID pandemic, so we will be considering services at a future date.
Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. So sorry for your loss. I had only been to Diane and Greg’s a couple of times with Kevin but your mom made me feel like we had been friends forever.

  2. Brandon, Blossem, Kristin, Bill and Doris,
We are so very sorry to hear of Diane’s passing. Diane was a very sweet woman. She was dearly loved by all of you and she loved her family and I know you will miss her always. Hold your memories in your heart. She is watching and caring for all of you from heaven.

  3. I just heard of Diane’s passing and am so sorry for your loss. . I was Diane’s nurse for 5 years until 2019 when I moved away. She was always so happy and content on our ‘Tuesday visits’. She loved having her grandchildren so close and shared many, many stories of their activities over the years.. Her face would just light up with pride and joy talking about all of you!
Diane and I were the same age so we shared lots of memories of the same movies, music, TV shows and high school life that we grew up with. She was kind, funny and a true friend-I will miss her…

  4. I just recently found out of Diane’s death and am so sad I wasn’t aware of her condition. I will always cherish our early years growing up together and regret that I didn’t see her in recent years after moving away. I will cherish our early years of growing up from adopting a pet raccoon, riding our bikes, school at Camp Grove to sewing our jeans into bell bottoms and playing rock & roll music. You were the best!
