Diana Sue Watts, 82, of Kewanee, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Diana was born on March 22, 1944, in Kewanee, Illinois, to Floyd and Alma (Chesser) Frail. She was a homemaker for much of her life before later working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Colonial Hall Nursing Home in Princeton, Illinois. There, she offered the same compassion and care to others that she so freely gave to her own family. Caring for people came naturally to her.
On October 20, 1973, Diana married Kenneth Watts, known to everyone as Paul, in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2009.
Diana was the proud mother of three daughters: Norma (Timothy) Carroll, Tina Watts, and Rose (Matt) Weir. She also lovingly embraced her stepdaughter, Susan E. Feuerborn (née Watts), as her own. Diana never believed in the words “half” or “step” when it came to family. To her, family was simply family.
She is survived by her daughters; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Frail and Alma Bowyer; her husband, Paul; and several siblings.
Her love of animals remained constant throughout her life. She cared for them with the same tenderness and devotion she showed her family. Diana lived a simple life, but the love she shared and the lives she touched left a lasting impact. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her gentle spirit, her deep compassion, and the joy she brought to those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly and carry her love forward for generations to come.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, Illinois. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Illinois, with Pastor Ronda Hollars officiating.
Memorials may be directed to Diana’s family in her memory.
