Denise “Nese” Adrienne Fry, 64, of La Moille, IL passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois.

Denise was born on March 28, 1960 in Mendota, IL the daughter of Delbert and Adrienne (Boulay) Fetzer. She married Orville Fry on December 2, 1979 in La Moille. Denise worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Margarets Hospital for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Registered Nurses Association and a Volunteer EMT with La Moille Fire Department.

Nese was loved by so many. Her wit, sarcasm, sense of humor and endless laughter always made her a joy to be around. She left her mark in this world and will be remembered fondly.

Family was priority for Denise. From summers in Michigan, cruises around the Caribbean, trips to Salem, MA (to celebrate her favorite holiday Halloween) as well as Harley rides with her husband while she was still able, she enjoyed travelling with loved ones.

Her role as "Nana" was very important to her. She loved her grandchildren dearly and spent every available moment making memories with them. Family and friends will never have to question her love, she always made sure they knew.

She is survived by her husband Orville Fry; two children, Jeremy “the Favorite” Fry and spouse Lori and Jennifer Graham and spouse Joseph all of La Moille; seven grandchildren, Jenna Fry, Giovanni Gatza, Edward Fry, Bentley Jandura, Jeremy Fry, Landon Jandura and Dane “Hurricane” Jandura; two brothers, Steven Fetzer of Ottawa and Larry Fetzer of WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Laurie Fetzer.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00pm till time of service at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Community United Methodist Church in La Moille with Pastor Dave Jungnickel, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.

Denise always told her family in the event of her passing, to watch for cardinals and look for her signs...."You'll see them and know I'm ok". Until they are all together again, they'll be watching for her signs and remembering her with love.

This is not "good bye", it is "see you later".

Guestbook

  1. I knew Denise in school. I worked with her at Heritage in Mendota back in 1993/94. She was a nurse, I worked in the Laundry.
I didn’t know Denise as far as a close friend goes, but she was always happy, smiling, and willing to help anyone who needed it..
I most recently worked with her daughter, Jennifer at the Lutheran Home before it closed.
Jennifer has three precious boys, Denise’s grandsons.
Although I wasn’t close to Denise, she will be missed by many. She was called to the lord too soon, but we will see her again.

  2. Orv, I pray that you find comfort with your family during this difficult time. My heartfelt sympathy to you and yours.
    Please accept my sincere condolences.

Aside from myself, you were my favorite driver at the food bank. Take care and may God bless.

    Stan Kieca
