Delbert “Klink” Owen Morris, 98, of Princeton, Illinois died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Aperion Care, Princeton, Illinois.
Delbert was born February 14, 1920 in Tiskilwa, IL the son of John Henry and Emma Jo (Robinson) Morris. He married Norma Lilas Lathrop in New Bedford, IL on November 10, 1946. She preceded him in death April 13, 1992.
He is survived by four daughters: Etta Kay Johnson of Princeton, IL, Jone (David) Booth of Princeton, IL, Lynn Ann Morris of Princeton, IL, and Della Lee Morris of LaSalle, IL; one son, Charles Owen Morris of Princeton, IL; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Norma, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Delbert served in World War II in the Army Aircorp as a Corporal. He worked as a milk man for Leafy Lane Dairy in Princeton, IL for 35 years, the Avery Dry Cleaners, Princeton, IL, and retired from the city of Princeton. Delbert was a member of the First Christian Church, Princeton, and a former member of the Princeton Moose Lodge.
A funeral service will be held 1:00p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton with Pastor Brian Moore officiating. Visitation will be held 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m. at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton prior to the service. Burial will take place in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton, with military rites accorded by the Princeton American Legion Post #125. Delbert’s pallbearers will be David Booth, Korby Schaill, Zephen Schaill, Roger Johnson, Kieran O’Brien, and Jim Johnson.
